The inspiration for this 'neo-traditional area was a community in Seaside, Florida, where the movie 'The Truman Show' was filmed. Within it's borders are three distinct areas, Inverness, Prestwick, and Elgin.

Bringing European architecture to McKenzie Towne, builders have constructed homes in styles such as Georgian, English Tudor, Victorian, Greek, Italian, and English arts and crafts. All areas feature homes with large front porches, paved alleys, and rear garages. A good mixture of multi-family townhouses, apartments and adult condos bring a diverse population to the community.

Parks and Water Features

There are two storm water retention ponds that wind through McKenzie Towne, as well as a water park and fountain at Prestwick Common, a three acre park. Pathways and green belts wind through the community, including Promenade Park, with a central band box for functions.

A Young and Growing Community

In 2007, McKenzie Towne's population was 11,805, an increase of 17% from 2006. 49% of the population is between the ages of 25 and 45, while 11.9% are immigrants, giving it a rich and vibrant energy.
