Amenities, Schools, and Transportation McKenzie Towne has numerous amenities within the community. The McKenzie Towne Hall opened its doors in 2007, at the traffic circle. It can be booked for community events and meetings, as well as by outside organizations. The gazebo/ bandstand at Promenade Park has been the site of many picnics and community activities. Elgin Hill has one of the best toboggan hills in Calgary. Look for the arches high above the village of Elgin. Prestwick Common features a fountain in its 3 acre park. The community is serviced by numerous bus routes, including an express bus downtown, and a commuter to the Bridlewood/Somerset LRT station. There is a transportation corridor down 52nd street that will provide for an eventual LRT line with a station behind High Street.
