As busy as life gets in the Baker household, local businessman Scott Baker maintains one solid tradition - the family dinner. It isn't always easy with both parents working and three active and busy offspring at home, all of them teenagers. But when Scott, his wife, Terrie, their children and even the grandparents sit down together at the dinner table, it's a special time indeed. That's when each family member shares what's going on in his or her life. A Solid Foundation

A native of Brentwood in Northwest Calgary, Scott was raised with a strong work ethic and solid values. When he was 13, his father's new job took the family to Manitoba, but his two sisters (both in their late teens) chose to remain in Calgary together. The move had a huge impact on Scott. The separation from his siblings made him value family all the more, and after high school he returned to Calgary. To this day, family remains Scott's greatest priority in life-and balancing family and outside responsibilities his greatest mission.

Scott is a devoted husband to wife Terrie and their children Corey, Jackie, Sean and Eric.

A Balance of Skills

Scott gained the skill to find that balance after graduating from SAIT in business and marketing. He embarked on a successful career with brokerages and a national corporation in the food and drug industry, quickly learning that to be effective in sales, it was essential to balance product knowledge with people skills-and that trustworthiness and reliability were the most important qualities of all. With that knowledge, Scott decided to move into a new career that would have a bigger impact on the lives of others.
